BIRMS (Banner Interface Records Management System)

Information about BIRMS (Banner Interface Records Management System)

BIRMS is being designed and built around the fundamental premise that a single system accessible to all data users will improve the quality of the data held and the speed and accuracy of its processing.

BIRMS provides users with access to Banner data specifically focussed on the key university processes identified during the consultation and process mapping exercises carried out earlier in the project.

During 2007/08, Business, GEES, Medicine and Physics piloted BIRMS, all contributing significantly to the development, testing and success of the initial stages of the project. During 2008/09, the majority of Schools will be using BIRMS.

BIRMS will improve and extend academic and administrative access to and management of applicant-, student- and programme-related data. The system is web-based, and accessible via the staff portal

New enhancements have been released to in both End of Session and Student Details.
Recently the Final Assessment checkbox has been added to the Component Manager screen in BIRMS. The Data Quality Manger, Rich Creedy has given us some guidance information about how you should be using this new functionality.
We are pleased to announce that we will be releasing the new Groups Management pages at the end of July 2011.
