Before searching for a job you should read the ISAS page on working during your studies to check if you are permitted to work and if they are any restrictions.
The Job Zone is located on the ground floor of the Guild of Students (O1 on the University map) and advertises vacancies for part time and temporary work in the Birmingham area.
They also provide advice on CVs and information on National Insurance numbers, tax and any other issues related to student employment.
The Jobcentre Plus is a government agency, which helps people find jobs for themselves. They have branches across the UK, including Birmingham, and provide free advice and guidance. They advertise many different jobs. See the JobCentre Plus website to search for jobs and details of the nearest centres.
The Job Zone offers a Jobcentre Plus drop-in service each Wednesday afternoon between 12pm to 3pm (term-time only) where a member of staff is available to help students.
You can find job vacancies in local newspapers. Every Thursday the Birmingham Evening Mail includes a job section listing vacancies within Birmingham and the local surrounding areas. Some of these will be part-time vacancies.

The University Careers and Employability Centre (in University Centre) helps students looking for graduate employment, work experience and training. A range of literature and resources are available and staff can provide you with advice on your career planning.
