Any student registered with the University can book a screening appointment with the learning support team. We currently offer screening for dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia.
If you or your course tutors think you might have a specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia or dyspraxia, you can book a screening appointment with a member of the Learning Support Team.
The screening lasts about 2 hours and involves the completion of a series of short tests, some of them timed, in order to identify a profile of strengths and weaknesses. This is combined with a discussion to highlight possible strategies which you could use to make your learning more effective. The results of the screening remain confidential and are not disclosed to anyone without your permission.
The screening process is free; however costs are involved if you wish to be referred for a full assessment. You may be able to apply for funding to cover some of the costs and this will be discussed at the initial consultation.
For further information or to book an appointment, please contact the Learning Support Team.
