Council Tax is a charge on households and helps to pay for services provided by local authorities. Full-time students living in University halls of residence are automatically exempt from paying this charge. Most full-time students living in private accommodation will also be exempt, but you must apply for this exemption – it is not automatic!

Remember: you do not need to include an official letter from the University with these forms.
