Talent Pool programme
The Talent Pool is a unique programme for postgraduate students that provides customised training and access to practical, ‘real-life’ opportunities to develop the next generation of academics, business consultants and entrepreneurs.
B-SEEN programme
Birmingham Skills for Enterprise and Employability Network provides business startup support to recent graduates across the city of Birmingham. Together with Birmingham City and Aston universities, University of Birmingham will offer incubation facilities and training to 30 graduates.
Plan B competition
Plan B is the University-wide competition to uncover the best talent, the best ideas and the new generation of entrepreneurs. Ideas should address one of the university's key research themes of contributing to sustainability, influencing society, quality of life and innovative use of technology. Pitch your idea to a panel of dragons with the chance to win prizes.
Enterprise Skills Series
Have you started a business? Are you thinking about starting one or going freelance? Do you run a charity, society or social enterprise? Would you like to develop enterprising skills to boost your employability? If your answer is yes to any of these questions, then the Enterprise Skills Series is for you.
Postgraduate Enterprise Summer School
A great opportunity for Doctoral Researchers to learn about enterprise and entrepreneurship. Topics covered include innovation, marketing, business planning, financing, commercialisation and presentation skills.

Online learning
If you want to know more about entrepreneurship or business start-up, the EI WebCT courses can help you. Videos, course notes and self-analysis tools can help you discover whether you or your idea are ready for success. Any registered member of the University can self-enrol.
Personal Skills Award
Entrepreneurship and Innovation is getting involved in the Personal Skills Award by providing students with the opportunity to earn points towards the award through enterprising activities and contributing to two Enterprise modules.
