B-SEEN programme

The B-SEEN (Birmingham Skills for Enterprise and Employability Network) programme aims to offer graduates and students a diverse package of support at a time when many will see business start-up and self-employment as an attractive career option. With incubator support, training, mentoring and career guidance, the programme will give participants the tools they need to succeed.


What is the Birmingham Skills for Enterprise and Employability Network?

B-SEEN provides comprehensive support for those who have a nascent business or viable business idea. Participants get access to:

  • a supported incubator space for up to 6 months
  • consultancy support through the use of graduate skills advisers
  • workshops and master classes signposting to other support agencies
  • training, mentoring and coaching
  • support network of other business startups
  • opportunity to bid for start-up capital

Who is it for?

The project will support:

  • Current University of Birmingham students
  • University of Birmingham graduates that have graduated within the last 4 years
  • Current Postgraduate Taught (PGTs) and Post Graduate Researchers (PGRs)
  • Those that present a viable business idea (to be assessed as part of the application process – see below)
  • Those that can attend the specified induction and training dates below

Deadline for application is 9am - Monday 5th March 2012.  Application forms available from ei@contacts.bham.ac.uk

Short-listed candidates will be expected to pitch their business idea before a dragons den style panel. This will take place on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th March 2012.

Induction day  - Thursday 29th March 2012

Training day - Friday 30th March 2012
