Want to kick start your own business? Entrepreneurship and Innovation is here to help start that journey through guidance and 1:1 meetings for any student or for graduates who are eligible for one of our programmes.
In order to best use your time with us, we also like to know that you have made as much progress as you can on your own. If this is your first visit to us and you have no previous background to business start-up, we suggest you start by carrying out at least one of the following:
Amongst these, you will find plenty of information on researching your idea, marketing yourself, financial planning, people management, personal success skills, raising money, and more.
Nobody can tell you for definite whether your venture will work or not. We can help you make a more informed decision and help you to lessen the risks by being prepared and organised.
If you would like us to assist you, it helps us to know a bit about your proposal first. Please ensure you have prepared fully, then:
When you submit the initial information to us, we will contact you to either arrange a one to one business readiness coaching session, or to suggest that you carry out further preparations, or to ask for more information. When we meet with you, we expect that you will bring any relevant information with you, and importantly a notepad so that you can take down any suggestions or referrals that we make. First meetings will normally take half an hour. Subsequent longer meetings will be scheduled where you and we see the value in continuing the discussions.
There are a number of training and incubation programmes that we run, please see programmes and services. We may make a suggestion that you attend or apply for one of these. If, for example, the SPEED WM programme was a suitable option for you, then we would continue to meet with you to help you get your proposal to a standard that could be presented to the selection panel.
