Earth Sciences
Many Earth Scientists prefer to follow a career related to the subject in the exploration industry (which can fluctuate depending on the financial strength of the oil and gas industries) or work in water exploration and supply or the environment. In recent years some of our graduates have entered careers in renewable energy and climate change. An increasingly common route for entry to most of these careers is through specialist postgraduate study after an undergraduate degree. Earth Science graduates work for oil companies and contractors; mining, quarrying and civil engineering companies; consultancies; and local government and government-supported scientific establishments.
