The DLHE survey is conducted 6 months after graduation.
The majority of students from the 2006/7 cohort are pursuing further study either on a full time basis or in combination with work. For those in further study, teacher training courses remain a popular choice with 11 students pursuing this course. The interest in teaching careers is also reflected by the high proportion of students working as teaching assistants and related occupations. Such students may be building up relevant experience to boost future applications to PGCE courses. This picture is similar to the national data for Theology and Religion students where in 2007 12% of graduates entered teaching. Other students are using the transferable skills developed by studying for their degree in a range of occupations which include a graduate management trainee, writer and administrator.
