The DLHE survey is conducted 6 months after graduation.
Philosophy graduates traditionally enter a wide range of employment areas. Skills gained from the course include: good articulation; precise analytical thought; clarity; rigour formulating complex problems; and the ability to analyse and construct sound arguments. The majority of graduates from the 2006/7 cohort have gone into employment and are using these transferable skills in a variety of occupations ranging from the civil service to finance. Those students who have gone into further study are pursuing a mixture of vocational courses to convert to a particular career area and non-vocational courses related to their degree programme.
