Registry (previously known as Academic and Student Administration) manages the progression of students from post-registration through to graduation. The division supports many of the key underlying services and processes, ensuring through regulation and quality assurance that academic standards are met.
The Policy team (previously Academic Policy and Quality) develops and implements University policies and practices in relation to academic quality and standards and manages collaborative provision and curriculum development procedures. Policy provides guidance and support to students and university staff on academic and student related legislative issues, including credit frameworks and regulatory compliance; manages student complaints and submissions to the Office of the Independent Adjudicator; and co-ordinates institutional audits by, and institutional responses to, the Quality Assurance Agency. The sub division provides support to a number of Senate Committees.

The Operations team (previously Registry Services) manages processes around the student record, over 80,000 student examination sits, progress and award decisions, student appeals, plagiarism and discipline cases, and graduates over 8,000 students throughout the academic year. The team also provide the doctoral researcher skills training and administrative provision, including support for the various Research Council bids and associated work. The Operations team is responsible for ensuring that the institution is fully compliant with all of its legal obligations, including Tier 4 of the Points-Based Immigration System Guidance, statutory returns to HESA (Higher Education Statistics Agency) and the Student Loans Company.

Student Data Support & Development is responsible for the management of IT systems and data quality activities including the University’s Banner Interface Records Management System programme and student Banner database.
